Star Motor becomes part of AutoIn Bilskade

Published 2026-01-05 by AutoIn Bilskade AS

AutoIn Bilskade AS has entered into an agreement to acquire the majority stake in Star Motor AS. With three workshop locations in Bærum, we are strengthening our capacity in the Greater Oslo area and building on a strong professional environment within body repair and paint.

For our customers, this primarily means one thing: more capacity, more expertise, and an even stronger professional environment in Greater Oslo. Star Motor AS operates body and paint workshops from three locations in Bærum – two in Sandvika and one at Rud – and will continue operations as an independent company within the AutoIn Group.

Star Motor has been a solid and well-run company for decades, with high professional competence and several important manufacturer approvals. – This is a strategically important acquisition that further strengthens our position in the Greater Oslo region.
Harald Rømcke, CEO and owner, AutoIn Group

The Agreement

AutoIn Bilskade AS is acquiring 70% of the shares in Star Motor AS. Martin Ørneberg and Stian Ørneberg will retain 15% each. The acquisition is effective from January 1st.

Operational Continuity – and a Clear Focus on the Customer Journey

Star Motor has been a solid and well-run workshop for several decades, boasting high professional competence and several key manufacturer approvals. Together, we will further develop our offering, including better flow in parts logistics and purchasing – and an even stronger focus on the customer journey across the group's workshops.

Management and Roles Going Forward at Star Motor AS

In connection with the acquisition, Stian Ørneberg takes over as Managing Director and joins the board. Bent Ørneberg continues in a central role in the business.

It is inspiring to become part of a larger and ambitious environment, and I look forward to contributing to further growth, quality, and a strong customer journey in the years to come.
Stian Ørneberg, Managing Director, Star Motor AS

At the chain level, the following individuals will have professional responsibility:

  • Anders Johansen will be responsible for certification work and additional manufacturer approvals.
  • Tore Linna will have overall responsibility for paint across the group's locations.

A company in Strong Development

Star Motor AS was established in 1978 and has seen strong development in recent years. In 2024, the company had a turnover of NOK 84 million, with a pre-tax profit of NOK 5.6 million. Preliminary figures also point towards further growth in 2025.
